What changes in 2027?
From 1 January 2027, IFRS 18 replaces IAS 1, bringing defined subtotals to the statement of profit or loss, and IAS 8 is renamed to reflect that it now covers the basis of preparation. IFRS 19 allows eligible subsidiaries to apply IFRS recognition and measurement with fewer disclosures. See IFRS 18 explained and IFRS 18 vs IAS 1.
What else forms part of IFRS?
- Interpretations: IFRIC Interpretations, and a few remaining SIC Interpretations, answer specific questions. IFRIC 23 on uncertain tax treatments is an example.
- The Conceptual Framework: the concepts the IASB uses to develop standards. It is not a standard and does not override one.
- IFRS for SMEs: a separate, simplified standard for companies without public accountability, adopted by many countries for smaller companies.
