Terms of Use

What you can expect from this website, and what we ask of you.

General information, not advice

Everything on this website, including the guides, the pictures and the Excel models, is general information about accounting standards and US tax. It is not accounting, tax or legal advice for your situation, and reading it does not make you a client of Tax Bakers or of any of its partners. Rules, rates and fees change; each guide shows the date it was last updated and lists its sources, and you should check the source before you rely on a figure.

Using the guides and models

You may read, print and link to the guides, and download and use the Excel models for your own work, study or business, including inside your organisation. You may quote short passages with a credit and a link. You may not republish a guide or a model in full, sell them, or present them as your own. Teachers and trainers who want to use the material in a course are welcome to ask by email.

Excel models

The models are provided as they are. They are filled in with worked examples and checked when they are published, but they are tools for understanding a calculation, not a substitute for your own controls, and we do not accept responsibility for decisions made with them. Keep macros and external links off; the models need neither.

The guides link to standard setters, government agencies and other sources. Those sites have their own terms, and we are not responsible for their content.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Tax Bakers and its partners are not liable for any loss arising from use of this website or its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Privacy

How we handle personal information, including Google Analytics, is in the Privacy Policy.

Changes

We may update these terms, and the date below will change when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
