What information Tax Bakers collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Who we are

Tax Bakers publishes free guides and Excel models on accounting standards and US tax, written by four Chartered Accountants in Islamabad, Pakistan. In this policy, "we" means Tax Bakers. You can reach us at hamza@taxbakers.com.

What we collect

  • Information you send us. Your name, email address and whatever you write, when you email us. This website has no forms and stores nothing you type.
  • Technical information. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time.
  • Usage information. Google Analytics records how visitors use the website, as described below.

Cookies and similar technologies

The pages of this website do not need cookies to work, but we use Google Analytics cookies to measure how the site is used, as explained below. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, and the cookies it sets to understand how visitors use the site: for example which pages are visited, how long people stay, which device and browser they use and how they found us. Google processes this information for us, and we use the reports to improve the guides and the website, not to identify individual visitors. Advertising

We may show advertising provided by Google AdSense on some pages. When we do, Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and you can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent before these cookies are used.

How we use information

  • To reply to your email, for example to correct a guide or answer a question about an Excel model.
  • To understand which guides are read, through Google Analytics, so we can improve them.
  • To keep the website secure.

We do not sell personal information.

Who we share it with

Service providers that help us run the website, such as our email and hosting providers and Google for analytics; and others where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with them, and then deleted. Analytics data is kept for the period set in Google Analytics, currently 14 months.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop using it. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or state privacy laws in the United States. To make a request, email hamza@taxbakers.com.

Children

This website is for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
