  • View and download eligible payroll and income transcripts. See business tax transcripts.
  • Request a tax compliance check.
  • See the business name and address the IRS has on file.

Sole proprietor with an EINThe owner
S and C corporationsDesignated officials
Partnerships, including multi-member LLCsSince April 2026, by role; individual partners get a narrower view
Tax-exempt organizations and governmentsSince April 2026

How do you set it up?

  1. Create or sign in to your IRS online account

    With identity verification.

  2. Go to the business tax account page

    From IRS.gov.

  3. Add the business

Using its EIN and the information requested to confirm your role.

  4. Review what is shown

    Balances, payments and any notices.

  5. Add employees if allowed

    For staff who handle payments.

What does it not cover?

It does not file returns. Estimated income tax and self-employment tax of sole proprietors and partners are personal obligations, handled in the individual online account rather than the business account. See estimated quarterly taxes and how to pay the IRS.

Can foreign owners use it?

Online access requires IRS identity verification, which can be difficult without a US Social Security number or US credit history. Foreign owners of US LLCs often rely on a US tax professional with authorization to view the account and transcripts instead. See Form 2848 vs 8821.

How do you keep it secure?

Use your own sign-in, never shared credentials, and give employees their own access where the account allows it. Go to IRS.gov directly rather than following links in emails or texts.
